What are the skills of the future?

So glad you asked! The most recent findings from the World Economic Forum show that, outside of technical skills, there are still a number of valuable skills with a growing demand in the workplace.

  • Cognitive Skills includes analytical, creative and systems thinking.

    Problem-solving using logic and analysis but taking that thinking forward to find creative solutions to resolve an issue, far outstrips that possible by a machine - and why these human skills are irreplaceable

  • Developing resilience, being self-aware and curious drives our ability to self-manage. Also, having a life-long interest in skills development -whether that be in technology or personal skills

  • Using the human-only abilities to collaborate with others, channelling empathy and influence in dealing with people.

  • Having an understanding of technologies and adapting to tech-driven environments. Embracing the new ways of working and being open to regular and constant change, with a desire to continually upskill in technologies.
